It is the concrete wall surrounding the Mohr Concrete company. <BR/><BR/>For way too long people have been complaining about this Oak Park institution and the "eye sore" that surrounds it. You and this blog are a real gift!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8188533055378883113.post-38551951227220177942008-04-24T16:27:00.000-07:002008-04-24T16:27:00.000-07:00this is fantastic! i love that you've turned me o...this is fantastic! i love that you've turned me on to this possibility! i so admire both the efforts of a city to sanction an "arts district" in attempt to create community *AND* the private, out of the circle estates that individuals can create for themselves and the things/people/experiences they feel passionately about. that this space is recognized in writing and by artists makes it, what? legitimate? as opposed to the private galleries people establish in their gardens? that they sometimes invite exclusive others to visit? i love that the onus is offered to the artists to establish themselves--that it is a space of true experimentation--that it is "sanctioned" by recognition--and that it is privately held for the use and enjoyment of those that LIVE with it and PRODUCE to support it. it is some kind of question--where the support comes from for living the thin line between the shifting expectations of culture and commerce. thank you for turning me on to this possibility. extraordinary.elizaBeth Bensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15809240995477386032noreply@blogger.com
